A combined meeting of the Research Data Alliance (RDA) Funders Forum and the Research Software Funders Forum took place on 20 March 2023, during the RDA’s 20th Plenary meeting. The 50+ attendees discussed a range of topics, including the Amsterdam Declaration on Funding Research Software Sustainability; approaches to funding research data and software and its infrastructure, including platforms and personnel; and other topics of mutual interest.

This aligned Funders Forum was conceived of in recognition of the two Funders Forums’ shared interests and overlaps in participants. The discussion aims to provide benefits with regard to the integration of research data and research software concerns, and enable cross-fertilisation between funders with common interests, to achieve common aims to improve research impact and solve societal challenges.
